I made a mistake, actually many

At one time I thought most people had good intentions about education. I proposed having a Constitutional amendment that would put "education" into the Constitution and make it a federal responsibility. Then along comes NCLB which has been a death wish to the public school. I think instead we should have the death penalty for any politician that tries to do anything about education. Charter schools are not raciest but they are certainly efforts to separate classes of people. Governors like Malloy in CT, continue to suggest that charter schools are better than public schools without a shred of evidence that support that theory. He is responding to those who want to get their kids separated from the masses and have the state pay for it. What a sham, while at the same time wanting to end tenure and have only younger teachers to teach to the test and bore the students who remain in the public schools. These guys don't know anything about learning and probably could care less. What happened to the people who do know something about public school education? We miss those administrators that had years of experience teaching and then moved into administration with great reluctance because they loved teaching so much. What happened to them? Well, state legislatures decided to allow that transition after three years of teaching. What a mess.
