I've been a Democrat my whole life - I've been a union man as well. I've supported every minority for as long as I can remember. I've voted in all the primaries and elections. And now when we finally have a majority, again I have questions about why I should stay a Democrat if these elected representatives don't do more than just worry about whether they'll be reelected. I think I understand finally why so many people have opted out of the choosing the candidate process by becoming Independents. It is so draining of one's energy to see these Democrats that should be doing something about Iraq worry so much about their own future in politics. I don't care about their future.. I want these troops out! I've even become delusional thinking that maybe Bush is actually sending more troops for the purpose of getting us out. And of course, you can't announce that your leaving otherwise you expose the troops to even greater danger. I realize that expecting so much out of this particular President is not being realistic.
